365 days around the world of art
Welcome to Head for Art, a hub of art activities! There’s Art 2010, my year-long blog project on the site that’s been running from Jan 1. The premise is simple: each and every day I choose one art work from DC’s National Gallery of Art to then discuss in a topical, entertaining and (I hope) enlightening way. This is my way of making use of a fantastic free art resource as well as an experiment of sorts: can art become relevant in a day-to-day way? Art 2010 explores the idea that we’ll get to a new way of seeing our day, life at large, even the world, just by opening our eyes and mind to art.
As well as Art 2010, Head for Art can take you a step further: On Tour! We’re up and running to exciting destinations. Whether it’s a weekend in Washington or weeks-on-end exploring somewhere further afield, we can piece together a bespoke trip that’s perfect for you. A Head for Art tour immerses you in the kind of authentic, on-site experience that’s vivid, entertaining and enlightening. Let us take the headache out of the logistics and put the Head for Art onto your shoulders.
