Stubbs a Celebration, Tate Britain

Marking the bicentenary of the death of George Stubbs (1724-1806), this special display will bring together a group of his very greatest paintings, showing the quality and range of his output as a painter of animals, rural life and portraits. Long admired for his paintings of horses, Stubbs’s art reflects an age of innovation and change in British culture.

Part of the Universal Leonardo Project, this exhibition gives an unrivalled picture of the machinations of Leonardo’s mind. Superb examples of his work from top international collections illustrate his thoughts on science, technology, art, design, and nature’s laws. Drawings and manuscripts are presented alongside computer graphics, animations and large-scale models. Mind-boggling stuff.
