I have been reading your blog each day ever since my best friend Katherine Schneider told me about it. I've also wanted to comment almost everyday and due to being a complete music fanatic, I seized the opportunity to comment on "Music to my eyes."
Before scrolling down to read your content, I initially ONLY saw on my computer screen Thomas' Red Rose Cantata and the "Music to my eyes." The first thing that came to my mind, sincerely, was the thought of Chris Tomson (drummer for Vampire Weekend) and his african drums! After seeing them perform at a music festival, Coachella, and reviewing their latest album for my school paper, I have gained a genuine appreciation for their distinctive sound. With this new epiphany of the African culture I see it everywhere! The 'Red Rose Cantata' proves why its so great.
My friends who have taken Advanced Art History classes say that despite all the english and math courses they have taken, art history has been the most relevant and useful course. Thank you for explaining to me what they mean.
